These vibrant evenings are creating new connections for women. Five women share their powerful personal stories at each online event. We encourage you to join us to celebrate yourself and other phenomenal women. We believe in the power of stories to heal.

These authentic women share stories of adventure, success and what they learned along the way. They offer inspiring stories, share their triumphs, and that gives us valuable ideas to support others or to push past our own challenges.

Spoken Lives has become quite a tradition for my friends and I. We all have busy lives and getting together is imperative but sporadic. Spoken Lives has provided a chance for quality time, dinner, refreshments and an evening of inspiration and empowerment. Alone or with friends, I always feel welcome. Elizabeth Verwey has brought together an interesting and inclusive group of women from all walks of life. Both the audience and the speakers are real woman with real stories with experiences and wisdom to share. If you’re looking for a safe, friendly, openminded, expansive evening please join us at the paintbox for dinner beforehand at 6pm or 7pm for the Speaker series. You’ll find me there. I promise you won’t be disappointed. Come with friends or solo, everyone is very friendly and welcoming.

Spoken lives is much more than an event, It has become a community of women who speak from the heart and soul. This collaborate group of individuals share their passions, moments of triumph , bringing strength and awareness to a room filled with people listening from the edge of their seats to every word spoken , listening for the gold. This group becomes more expansive with each event, as we certainly always want to bring someone else in our lives to share the experience with. The space provides an atmosphere for all of us to connect with one another, share our own lives, and create deeply connected relationships. Spoken lives is more than an event, it has become a community.

I’ve been attending ‘Spoken Lives’ evenings since their inception and I have to say I wouldn’t miss one of them for the world. Elizabeth has done an incredible job of curating a roster of truly amazing women who ‘bare their souls’ each and every time. They say that ‘everyone has a story’ and boy, do you ever realize how very true that is when you attend an event. The women who speak do it from the heart with such passion and eloquence that you wonder how they can all be in the same room at the same time! I have learned so much since attending. The themes are always fascinating and relevant to my life in one way or another. I have met incredible women and have gone away just that much ‘better’ as a person myself having interacted with such inspirational people. I first learned to live alone at 55 years of age. After 36 years of marriage, we were divorced. I turned to friends during my life makeover for support. I hosted a series of Nurture Nights in my new place and invited friends over for pot luck evenings. Most of the women had a story to share about their own challenges and the lessons they learned while meeting their life challenges. When they shared their life lessons, I felt empowered.

These events grew as my friends invited their friends and I moved these gatherings to a public space to make room for everyone who wanted to join us.

Now, we’re making “herstory” by sharing our stories with one another in a more formal way. Five speakers share their stories online on a monthly basis. Our community gathers once a year to celebrate the power of stories and information to support one another.
