We held a Lifestyle Workshop last week called Understanding Money. We kicked it off with a dynamic exercise that let us have a glimpse into how we feel about money. We each have an emotional relationship with this useful tool. We can use any tool more efficiently and this is one we deal with on a daily basis.
The workshop highlighted what money can mean to us (love, support, pity, connection, etc.) as we gave away and took money from others. If we fully participated in the exercise, we got a ton out of it (just like in everyday life). This exercise reflected our ‘real’ lives and how we take care of some people and not others. There were some huge takeaways! What fun it is to gain more awareness about what we’re really doing when we’re using our own money.
Suzie Orman says: People first, then money, then things.
This powerful workshop was sponsored by Francesca Rea, from Assante Capital Management. Stay tuned, as we plan to host an evening workshop. Hope you can join us? We create a safe space to explore and learn. Francesca also shared some financial tools for us to make more money with our savings.
My goal is to live in awareness. One of my favourite sayings is:
“Let us not look back in anger, or forward in fear, but around in awareness“
I’d love to hear how you bring more awareness into your life. Write me? Thanks so much!
In response to our last newsletter, a reader, Ellen wrote in to share that she likes to say:
“Throw kindness around like confetti. Yeah!”
I plan to try it this month! Shout it out loud!
Did you hear that February 17 was Random Acts of Kindness Day?
If you missed it, give it try it? Enjoy…
